First: Fit Foodprints would love to wish you all the best for 2018. We hope you had a wonderful New Year’s Eve with your loved ones and we hope 2018 will bring you a lot of new countries to explore, in good health and with the people you love.
However, before we make our New Years resolutions, we want to look back at 2017, so here it is: our Travel Throwback!
2017 has been a year with only a few trips. However, we tried to make the most of every trip and to get the best bang for our buck. Our first city trip was to Venice, Italy. Venice is known as one of the most romantic cities in the world and we must agree! We completely fell in love with this magnificent city and her romantic vibe. And, you might know this, our relationship became “official” during our stay, which made it an extra special trip for us! If you love sharing a pizza and wine while looking at the gondolas, Venice is the best destination. Even if you’re on a budget.
We also visited Romania in 2017. We found some cheap tickets to Timișoara. The internet calls this city “small Vienna” but that’s not really how we would describe it. Unfortunately, many buildings in Timișoara are destroyed and the city center is so small, that we saw everything in just one day. However, we did have a lot of fun, probably thanks to the (very) cheap alcohol, haha.
Gozo, Malta, and Sicily
Our third trip started a bit more adventurous than expected. We stayed in an Airbnb and we found some unwanted roommates in the apartment. This resulted in us wandering around with our bags at 2:00 PM, looking for a place to sleep. We don’t want to spoil too much, but you can read the full story here.
However, everything turned out okay and we had a wonderful holiday at Malta and Sicily. One of the highlights was definitely our visit to the ghost town of Poggioreale Vecchio. We have never been so scared and excited at the same time.
Another highlight were our road trips by a quad on the islands of Gozo and Malta. We really had a blast driving around on the islands. However, another active adventure we liked, was hiking Mount Etna. Do you think we reached the summit?

First: don’t skip Taormina and Valle dei Templi when you’re on Sicily. We think you will love it as much as we did.
Not sure about traveling to Sicily because you are on a budget? No worries, we wrote down all our expenses here. Wondering about the costs at Gozo? You can find it here.
Still looking for more? Well… You must be lucky! There will be new posts soon about Marrakech, so please, stay tuned!
